High density screen print is a neat technique that adds tactile interest to screenprinted designs. Glitter mixed into the ink gives it extra sparkle. Flower outlines and fur details are printed over an intricate design.
I am always reaching for my french terry shirts as the weather gets cooler because they’re so convenient. I find I prefer the buttons to zippers on hoodies because the zipper is stiff and hangs a bit awkwardly when unzipped. The buttons make the garment drape more nicely.
The heavier weight french terry fabric will actually help keep you warm, but by itself isn’t too heavy for a pleasant spring or fall day, and you can unbutton it if the sun comes out.
Beautiful and mysterious, clouded leopards are native to Southeast Asia. Their closest relative is the equally gorgeous snow leopard. Not much is known about these guys in the wild because they’re nocturnal and secretive in their natural habitat. We do know that clouded leopards are some of the most agile hunters in the natural world, with several adaptations that allow them to pursue a variety of prey.
These adaptations include:
- Their canine teeth are the longest in relation to body size of any cat, so they’re kind of a modern (mini) sabre-toothed cat. In addition, they can open their jaws wider than any other cat.
- To put it in perspective, their canines are the same size as that of a tiger (2 in/5 cm), even though a tiger is 10 times larger!
- Their ankles can rotate almost 180 degrees backward, so they can climb down trees headfirst and upside down and even hang from their back feet.
- Their tail is the longest in relation to body size of any cat, which helps them balance when they’re up in the trees.
- On top of all that, they’re good swimmers.
